In this Case Study assignment, clearly describe a problem/challenge that you are currently facing, or one that might be surfacing shortly (e.g., you're having an upcoming meeting with your manager, co-worker, client and you might need to give or receive some negative feedback or explain something that didn't go according to plan). This Case Study doesn't have to be about a BIG problem or challenge, but can be about some event at your internship that you'd like to get some feedback from your peers that will help you address this situation as positively as possible. Many of you have goals in which you lead a meeting, pitch a client, increase social media presence, increase sales/customer satisfaction, manage financials/costs or are responsible for improving survey ratings. Each of these could be viewed as challenge, not necessarily a problem, that you can address in your paper with the intent of seeking PIP team input.

Describe the challenge/problem with as much detail as necessary for your PIP team members to understand the situation/context. Think like a reporter - who, what, when, why, where, how many, etc. Make sure to be as objective as you can in your writing - keep out biased statements like "no one likes her, trusts her, he's so weird, they don't care, they never listen...." You can certainly write that you don't trust or respect someone, but leave out the all/never/always/nobody language. As before, send your paper to your PIP team members at least the night before your section meeting, so we can hit the ground ready to go at your next section meeting. Relate the performance of the task or the challenges you have faced to the competencies that you used. Was the case assignment helpful in developing the competencies?

I would also recommend reviewing the list of competencies provided in the class. These appear more foundational in nature, than self-development related.

For the next assignment make sure you have SPECIFIC, DETAILED activities that will foster the development of these competencies. In addition, include mechanisms to measure each competency. In other words, how will you determine if progress has been made?
