Task Description
You are to select asimple article written about the colonisation process of Australia that portrays the point of view of the coloniser. Your job is to reinterpret the text into Power Point Presentation so that it will indicate the point of view of the colonized people. Obviously, this is not to be done word for word but in a way that conveys the central messages.
The purpose of this assignment is to demonstrate your knowledge of the opposing Perspectives, and of the mechanism at play in the colonisation process. It should highlight a Cause and effect element.
Preparation
To prepare for this assignment you need to;
1. Know the mechanisms of colonisation.
2. Understand the chosen article and the impact of actions described.
3. Decide how this may be expressed from ‘the other' perspective.
4. Think about how to effectively present your work.
Lecturer's tips:
1. Choose 6 key elements of the article.
(For example)> Education, health, development, food, and other changes during colonization
2. Point out the opposing perspectives of the article's colonization processes.
(For example)> if the article says that education was provided to the aboriginal people and development was made, the opposing would be, their children taken away from their families to provide education which was unfair to the families.
To develop areas, many aboriginal people were killed so that their lands and properties could be grasped.
3. Choose a simple article which is easy to read and understand.
4. Keep the power point presentation simple and use pictures if needed.
5. Make no more then 8/9 slides including referencing slide.
The response should include a reference list. Double-space, using Times New Roman 12 pnt font, one-inch margins, and APA style of writing and citations.
