One controversial idea in Roger's client-centered therapy is that the therapist should give unconditional positive regard to the client, no matter what. Define in simple terms what you think this means and also your opinions about whether this is a good idea. Do you think parents give unconditional positive regard to their kids? If so, why, if not, should they?
Although Rogers believed in the central importance of unconditional positive regard, please discuss why you think it might be considered a controversial idea. Also, include a discussion of the concepts of "conditions of worth" and "conditional positive regard" in your response.
