Assignment: Strategic Plan SWOTT Analysis Paper

Conduct an internal and external environmental analysis, and a supply chain analysis for your proposed new division and its business model.

Create a SWOTT table summarizing your findings (note that a final "T" (Trends) is added to last week's SWOT Analysis). Your environmental analysis should consider, at a minimum, the following factors. For each factor, identify the one primary strength, weakness, opportunity, threat, and trend, and include it in your table. (Note that this SWOTT table will be a 19 x 5 table at a minimum, or you may have two separate tables, one for external forces and trends and one for internal. Many students put the 19 force/trend areas down the left, and the five (5) S, W, O, T, T items across the top, then fill in the matrix. For full points, you will need to have an entry for all 95 of the cells in the matrix.)

Write a 900- to 1,050-word synopsis in which you analyze relevant forces and trends from the list above. Your analysis must include the following:

• Include Economic and Legal and regulatory forces and trends, and then at least five (5) others from the above list of 19.

• Critique how well the organization adapts to change.

• Analyze and explain the supply chain of the new division of your chosen business. Share your plans to develop and leverage core competencies and resources within the supply chain in an effort to make a positive impact on the business model and the various stakeholders.

• Identify issues and/or opportunities:

o Identify the major issues and/or opportunities that the company faces based on your analysis.

o Generate a hypothesis surrounding each issue and research questions to use for conducting analysis. See the Student Materials for a document about Hypothesis and Accuracy Testing.

o Identify the circumstances surrounding each issue; classify the circumstances (e.g., is it a Strength, Weakness, Opportunity, Threat or Trend, and which force/trend does it relate to); attribute the importance (e.g., low, medium, high) of each classification; and test the accuracy of the importance for each classification (i.e., is it highly correlated or accurate).

Format your paper according to APA guidelines, including at least two cited references in your paper. Write the paper in third person voice.

For this assignment you will be submitting two deliverables:

1) a SWOTT table (Excel spreadsheet or Word document with embedded table)
2) your Synopsis paper described above (Word document).
