Imagine that you are on the administrative team for a new program. Maybe you are the director, maybe you are a board member or a community representative- and your job is to contribute to creating a vison and a mission statement for a new ECE program. After completing this week's readings and researching vison and mission statements of companies or products relevant in your life, you now understand the difference between vision and mission statements. You are ready collaborate to create a vision statement and a mission statement for the new program. What would an ideal vision statement say? What should an ideal mission statement say?
Create a complete Vision statement and a complete Mission statement for an early childhood program.
a) The vision statement should address a BIG idea . It should also be appropriate to young children and families and should be about an end the program wants to achieve, not a method to achieve it.
b) The mission statement should address the idea in the vision. It should be appropriate for young children and families and it is about the method you will use to achieve the vision.
c) The mission and vision statements should have accurate spelling, punctuation and grammar.
d) The vision and mission statements should be expressed in full, well-constructed sentences.
e) The vision and mission statements should be no more than one sentence each. They can be on the same final post but must be clearly labeled.
