Homework: Freshman Skills
Diversity Project Guidelines
The World is fast becoming a "Global Village". As students preparing to work in this diverse and competitive environment, it is important that you understand and appreciate diversity. This homework will give you the opportunity to explore different cultures, make connections between your culture and other students' cultures.
What to do:
Create a PowerPoint presentation to discuss the culture of any country of your choice.
Things that could be incorporated into the presentation
1. Maps showing geographical locations of your country
2. Brief Historical facts, population, climate and language
3. System of government, education and economy
4. Flags and their symbolisms
5. Currencies and their values
6. Literature and music pertaining to your culture, Sports and musical instrument
7. Samples of cuisine and apparel
8. Holidays observed and their significance
9. Customs and traditions (e.g. marriage, religion, family values)
10. State at least, two major contributions made to society by individuals from the country researched
o Contribution could be in any area ---e.g. sports, music, invention, art, human rights, production etc.
Format your homework according to the give formatting requirements:
1. The answer must be double spaced, typed, using Times New Roman font (size 12), with one-inch margins on all sides.
2. The response also includes a cover page containing the title of the homework, the course title, the student's name, and the date. The cover page is not included in the required page length.
3. Also include a reference page. The references and Citations should follow APA format. The reference page is not included in the required page length.
