THE ROLE OF THE ENTREPRENUER IN MITIGATING UNEMPLOYMENT AND POVERTY IN THE SUB-SAHARAN AFRICA

Writing Task 1: Research Design

Clearly depict the scientific research design of your study. It is critical that your research design represents a scientific inquiry into a social problem involving stakeholders or relevant documents. Review the textbook and readings as to help you determine your design. You may also wish to think about the following questions while planning the design:

- Can you use the designs in the textbook as to build a reproducible design?

- Can you adopt a design from the literature?

- Does the design help you determine a practical sampling strategy?

- Does the design ensure the collection of needed data as to address the research questions and hypothesis tests?

- Can you describe the design using simple terms and concepts from the textbook?

Writing Task 2: Appropriateness of Design

You have a research questions, a problem statement, and a design. Now it is time to justify your design as fitting your study! Many researchers like to use process of elimination as to justify their chosen design. The process is simple:

- Create a paragraph or two describing the designs used by previous researchers and the designs you considered using while working upon Writing Task 1.

- Systematically disqualify all the alternative designs.

- After eliminating all possible alternative designs, state your selected design and argue for it as the correct design for the study. Convince your audience that your design collects the needed data, remains ethical, and will help you tackle the research questions, hypothesis tests, and problem.

- Conclude upon your design as the right choice for your study and wrap up the argument.
Strive to remain clear, honest, and direct. Honesty is the best policy while arguing for your research design.

Writing Task 3: PROCEDURE

Procedure clearly describe how the study will be performed, in detail. You must completely describe the procedures used to establish the data collection environments, collect data, conduct interviews, gather and organize documents for analysis, and all the actions required to carry out the study. The goal is to offer a clear exposition allowing anyone to understand your actions and reproduce your procedure. Do not go in to detail about data analysis because you will write about that during a future task. You should also strive to include the following additional elements into your procedure:
- How you recruit participants.
- How you obtain permissions and consent.
- How you use the instruments as to collect data.
- How you store/record the data, in a general sense.
- If you did not have participants, then describe how you identified, selected, and stored documents of interest.

Writing Task 4:

Role of the Researcher

Simply describe the roles, responsibilities, and actions of the research during the study. Just be honest, simple, and direct- and keep it to one paragraph!

Some studies may need a second paragraph as to describe the roles of research support staff and others involved with data collection.
