Associates will be evaluated 2 times per year on Attendance Attitude, Productivity, Customer Service, Ability to learn. Appraisal process: The deparment manager will schedule a face-to-face meeting with each employee. During this meeting the manager will discuss the employees performance scores, how to improve if necessary, discuss last periods goals, and set new individual goals for the upcoming quarter. The department manager should establish a plan with each employee on how they are going to reach those goals. If development is needed for any of the employees, the department manager should start working on making the proper arrangements. Managers should help employees feel empowered and capable of performing their job well and reaching the goals set for them. At the end of the meeting there should be a follow-up meeting scheduled for a few weeks after the evaluations have been completed. This allows employees to discuss any concerns they have with their managers before the next appraisal process. The last step of the appraisal process is delivering a summary report to the store manager.

Job description: Education Requirements Education requirements for Nature’s Grocer’s associate job position is a High School Diploma or GED Job summary Help customers throughout the store by answering questions about produce, non-perishable products, meats, and/or cheeses and giving directions to product locations; stock shelves; ring up customers; bag purchases; and transport bags to customers’ vehicles. Responsibilities: Responsibilities for Nature Grocer associates include answering customer’s questions about merchandise and advice customers on product selection. They also need to be able to use a cash register to ring up customers’’ purchases and accept cash or charge card for purchases. Then they will be responsible for packing customer purchases in bags and bring them to customers’ vehicles. When not helping customers they will be responsible for stocking shelves, stands, cases, bins, and tables with new or replenished merchandise. Knowledge and skills Associates will be responsible for being informed about Nature’s Grocer’s merchandise. They will also need to understand arithmetic. Associates will need to know how to use a cash register and credit card machines. All associates will also need to have an understanding of interpersonal and communication skills. Abilities Associates need to be able to lift 30lbs, have the physical ability to handle merchandise, operate a cash register, and arrange things on shelves/tables. They need to be able to stand for an extended period of time and see details at close range, Working conditions and Attire Working conditions at a Nature’s Grocers includes primarily working indoors. The dress code for the organization is khaki pants, a Nature’s Grocer button-down shirt, and closed-toe shoes.
