Create a Business!!!

The project is on your business. It can be anything you want it to be. You currently have three stores and are planning to add a fourth. The documents are as follows:

1. A flyer announcing the opening of your fourth store. The flyer should give pertinent information and include text, a graphic, and WordArt.This flyer should be created in Word. You can use a template or start from scratch.

2. The embedded Word document is a 3-sectioned memo to your stockholders using the performance of your company last year to justify opening a new store this year.

a. The 3 sections are a text portion, a table, and a chart. The table and chart are embedded from your worksheet.
b. The table and graph will be developed in the Excel Workbook section of the project.
c. This memo should include the following:

i. Letterhead for your company
ii. A brief memo to the stockholders outlining the data that will be below the vergiage.
iii. Both the Gross Sales and Products charts from your Excel file. These will be copied and pasted within the memo.

3. The Excel Workbook describes your company in detail.

a. Page 1 is a title page (Tab=Title) containing the name of your company, the date, and a brief description of your company, i.e. what it does, makes, services, or supplies. You should use color and text changes and add graphics for a professional look.

b. Page 2 (Tab=Employees) is an employee roster. It has the following fields (columns):

1. Name = last, first
2. Social Security Number formatted as a Social Security Number
3. Store where they work
4. Hire date
5. Years-of-service (YOS) You will use today's date to compute this formula. For example if you insert today's date in cell B1, then you formula would be ($B$1-Hiredate)/365. Format YOS as number with 1 decimal.
6. Title (manager, clerk, administrator, sales)
7. Gender (This is an EEOC requirement)
8. Marital status
9. Salary = a field calculated by a base salary of $25,000 plus YOS times $1,000. Format this to currency with no decimal places.

You have 3 stores and each has 5 employees including 1 manager

c. Page 3 (Tab=Gross) is a table that lists the stores down the left column and quarters across the top like this:

Be creative; don't use "Store 1, Store 2 ..." as your store names.

Your store totals on page 3 must match those on page 4.

Use formulas to calculate totals.

Format appropriately.

4. The Outline for using Internet Resources will show a potential investor how technology will allow you to increase productivity, promote your company/products, and/or increase your value in the market place.

a. In a professional outline form (such as is being used here for the assignment description) using Microsoft Word, identify at least 3 internet resources that will be used by your business.

i. The document should have a letterhead style heading at the top
ii. The outline should identify the 3 resources you will use (identified by the letters: A, B, C). As with Unit #6, the resources must allow you to perform a function other than simply obtaining information.
iii. For each resource give a thorough description of how that resource will be used to accomplish one or more of the goals identified above in heading (increase productivity, promote your company/products, and/or increase your value in the market place). This description should be indented from the name of the resource and identified by a number supporting that letter.

b. PLEASE NOTE***Only 1 of the 3 may be a Social Media platform.

5. The PowerPoint presentation is a sales pitch to prospective investors. It tells about your company and its past performance. Start it with a Title page similar to the one in the Excel Workbook. Develop the rest as you wish. The minimum size is 5 slides. Be sure that you presentation is professional. Don't overuse animations and transitions. Keep a good balance.
