The report should have the following components:

1. State the policy question/issue you select and why you believe this topic is important.
2. Summarize available literature (Review at least five research-based articles on the topic, providing support for your recommendations.
3. Provide a clear statement of your policy recommendations.

Possible topics for essays:

1. Should employers provide accommodations for employees with autism? If so, what accommodations should be provided?
2. Should inclusion or mainstreaming be encouraged for students with autism?
3. Should colleges provide specialized supports for students with autism?
4. Should teachers of students with autism be required to obtain specific training? What type of training? Who should pay for it?
5. Should public supports be available for the aging adult population? What should these supports look like? How should they be funded?
6. Should all infants be screened for autism? When and how?
