Concepts you are interested in measuring in a concise way

Problem: Can one define the major concepts you're interested in measuring in a concise way, or does the measurement of these require a more open-ended less structured way? And third, what is the purpose in your knowledge development. Is it exploratory, descriptive, or explanatory? And what I mean by explanatory is, is the purpose one of explaining what factors might cause change? So going from the abstract to the more specific in the application of this continuum of knowledge, one needs to also consider specific populations. So I can give you an example. We know a lot about substance abuse risk factors, protective factors for adults. But can we apply that knowledge and evidence-based practices to what we know about older adults, our elders or older adults? Can we just assume that factors that are linked to risk factors for adults are also linked to risk factors for older adults? And we do know that there's late-stage alcoholism or substance abuse, so that would raise issues in terms of the importance of a special population. The other piece that one needs to think about as you begin to apply the continuum of knowledge is the context. So for me, the most relevant at this point, unfortunately, is if we were interested in mental health supports and school systems, do we understand the needs of immigrant children from families that are not documented, given the current political climate? What can we draw from earlier research, and where are the unknowns? So those, to me, are the import. Need Assignment Help?
