Compute the true stress at the point of necking initiation

The following engineering tensile properties are given for the 1080 steel:

-Yield strength (MPa): 585

-Tensile Strength (MPa): 965

-Elongation to fracture for specimen of 5cm gage length (%): 12

A 5cm long circular rod of 1080 steel specimen with a diameter of 1.28 cm is loaded to failure in tension.

a. What is the maximum load needed to break the specimen?

b. If necking initiated at 80% of the total elongation, prior to this point the specimen deformation is uniform, compute the true stress at the point of necking initiation.
