The new shopping mall is thinking of setting up the information desk manned by one employee. Based on information obtained from similar information desks, it is thought that people will arrive at desk at the rate of 20 per hour. It takes the average of 2 minutes to answer the question. It is supposed that arrivals follow the Poisson distribution and answer times are exponentially distributed. (i) Determine probability that employee is idle. (ii) Compute proportion of time that employee is busy. (iii) Compute average number of people receiving and waiting to receive information. (iv) Determine average number of people waiting in line to get information. (v) Determine average time the person seeking information spends in system. (vi) Determine expected time the person spends just waiting in line to have the question answered (time in the queue).
