Assignment task:
Compose two reflections each week of your placement in early childhood center over the following given areas in words:
a. The teaching strategies that you are observing being implemented within the room you are undertaking your placement in. In these reflections consider the pedagogical practices you are observing, how these are effective in supporting and meeting the needs of children, the theory these pedagogies are based on, and how you could incorporate these into your teaching practice.
b. Your own practices and understandings. Think about what has worked well in your teaching practice, what you have learnt about yourself as a teacher, what has challenged you in your teaching practice, how you are putting theory into practice within your pedagogical practices, what you want or need to know more about, etc. These observations should go beyond what children are doing each day or a "what I did today" - instead you are focusing on your developing practice, where you could learn more and how.
