Comparison to organizational situations


In Systems Dynamics, doctoral students will explore the knowledge, skills, values and attitudes needed to manage public service organizations strategically. Using a systems theory perspective, students will examine organizational structures and processes for organizational change. In this course, students will be prepared to be current and future managers of public educational organizations in leadership roles.

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES:

Upon completion of this course you will be able to:

1. Evaluate systems thinking concepts in comparison to organizational situations.

2. Outline the five major disciplines in systems thinking.

3. Analyze the integration of systems theory for organizational change.

4. Relate various applications of systems theory to the workplace.

5. Analyze feedback loops in organizations as supportive or hindering of systems goals.

6. Compare and contrast personal mastery with typical goals of employees in their system.

7. Present an organizational setting within a greater systems view.
