Final Project

There are two key components to the final project:

Part 1: Research and application of topic to organizational communication:

• Based on the below topics: Choose one topic and research various information and perspectives relative to the topics' impact on organizational communication.

• You must research at least THREE different resources looking at what is stated about this topic and how this topic impacts communications within an organization (not including your textbook).

The impact of this topic on organizational communication is the most important part of this assignment.

What did the various perspectives that your read tell you? Each of these topics relates specifically to organizations and have an impact on how organizations function and impact communication within an organization.

Choose from ONE of the below topics: Change management Diversity Globalization Ethics Communication competence Emotional labor Organizational culture Power Socialization Conflict Supervisor-subordinate communication Leadership Trust Feedback Peer and co-worker communication Organizational teams Decision-making New communication technologies in organizations.

• Be sure to internally cite sources that you obtain information from and be sure to include the full citation of the source at the end of your work.

• This portion of the assignment should be minimally 3 pages long (excluding cover page and works cited page). You must include minimally THREE resources as part of this research. All work should reflect APA formatting, font 12 double spaced.

Part 2: Create an Impact Statement :

This part must be minimally 350 words.

• What is an "Impact Statement": An impact statement is a reflection on what concepts/ ideas/ learnings from the textbook and assignments impacted/ or interested you the most.

• Expand on what the textbook states and how/why that particular concept impacted you.

Be sure to cite the textbook and define the concept within your discussion.

• Reflect on the ways in which you might use this knowledge of organizational communication in your own communication practice OVERALL for both parts of this project:

• You will be graded on the quality of your research

• Meeting the criteria above

• The application and analysis of the secondary research, textbook, course readings, etc.

• The quality of the presentation of the material (understandable, clear, adequate information, grammar, writing style, grammatical mechanics, proper use of APA formatting).

• All projects will be graded for content and analysis - including spelling, grammar, organization, clarity, and structure.
