Calculate the heats of dissolution for lithium chloride and

1. Calculate the heats of dissolution for lithium chloride and ammonium chloride from Tabulated ?Hf values, these can be found in Appendix B of your textbook or on-line.

2. When a 3.25-g sample of solid sodium hydroxide was dissolved in a calorimeter in 100.0 g of water, the temperature rose from 23.9°C to 32.0°C. Calculate ?H (in kJ/mol NaOH) for the solution process: NaOH(s) ? Na+(aq) + OH- (aq)
Assume it's a perfect calorimeter and that the specific heat of the solution is the same as that of pure water.

3. Write the molecular, ionic, and net ionic equations for the following neutralization reactions:

a) HCl(aq) + NaOH (aq) ?
b) HNO3(aq) + NaOH (aq)?
