Purpose of Assessment

The purpose of this assessment is to evaluate students for the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to develop, implement and maintain a strategic approach to managing human resources in an organisation ensuring that the organisation has the structure and staff to meet current and foreseeable business and performance objectives.

Description of Assessment

This task requires engaging students to assess interpersonal, communication, and collaborative skillsto individuals employed as human resource managers after a firm grounding has been established in a range of human resource activities. This assessment addresses the elements of competency for the units ‘BSBHRM602 Manage human resources strategic planning as listed below:
- Research planning requirements.
- Develop human resource strategic plan.
- Implement human resource strategic plan.

Assessment Instructions

Your assessment will be required to be typed in Arial font size 12 only. You will provide your completed assessment for all of questions in one document and MUST be uploaded into MOODLE (No other method of submission will be accepted).

CASE STUDY

Requirement

In assessment 1 (part 1), you wrote a short report to C Design management outlining the HR strategy.

Task 1: Presentation of the report to the C Design team.
Instructions:
In your role as HR consultant, and as part of an effective communications strategy, you are required to deliver the contents of your short report to the C Design team in a presentation to the C Design team.
As C Design comprises a close-knit team, it is imperative that the strategy is presented for both feedback and ownership purposes.
The presentation should cover all areas of the report:
1/ Introduction
- The situation
- The corporate strategy
- The business strategy

2/ Strategy overview
- HR strategy
- Alignment to corporate and marketing strategies

2/ HR strategic objectives
3/ HR implementation plan overview describing the following criteria:
- Recruitment methods
- Recruitment process
- The person
- The job

4/ Associated risks

Briefing the C Design team
1/ The presentation duration should be planned for no more than 5 - 7 minutes.
2/ Prepare visual aids in a PowerPoint format with only the required amount of slides.
3/ Prepare and use ‘prompt' notes (if required.) Prompt notes are key points of each slide. Don't read from the screen.
4/ Practice your presentation, as you will be marked on the following criteria:
- Content
- Design & use of visual aids
- Delivery > pace > tone of voice > eye contact > timing
- Appropriate introduction and ending (including time for questions.)
