Instructions The objective of this assignment is to emphasize the importance of an organization's culture - its mission, vision and values - while learning how these are translated into organizational actions.

As an extra benefit, you may be able to apply what you've learned to researching prospective employers during your next job search. assigned organization (Boeing):

• Identify a competitor. "Competitor" means another organization in the same industry or line of work; not another organization in the table.

You cannot use another organization on the list.

• Briefly summarize each organization's mission/vision/purpose and values/guiding principles. Organizations will call these by different names.

• Give at least two examples of how each organization has demonstrated their values/guiding principles.

• Discuss the similarities and/or differences in the mission/vision/purpose and values/guiding principles of the organizations.

• Suppose you are the founder of a small technology company. For your assigned organization, which values / guiding principles would you adopt? Why? If you wouldn't adopt any of them, why not?

Potential sources of information: Find the organization's web site and look for: "About us," "Who we are," "Corporate responsibility," "Corporate citizenship," "Sustainability," "Ethics, Corporate culture" or similar.
