4. It is important for a case manager to have good listening skills because while screening and assessing a client you want to make sure that you can identify "high risk" clients.

Being an effective listener, we can also ask more open-ended questions towards our client narrowing down what the root cause is. I remember growing up my parents would say you need to listen to better understand the message that is being given in church or in the classroom. We sometimes lack these skills. What other ways can we improve our listening skills and apply them in our profession?

5. As we can see that therapy and case management has similar for it is important for the therapist and the case manager to have listening skills. But there are boundaries, in which therapist helps more with mental illness and/or mental health problems.

And based on our reading summers (2016) shared that therapist requires special skills. Case Manager does not have the qualification needed to be a therapist.

Case Manager has specific services to client, they facilitate in assessment, care planning, coordination and advocacy for the individuals and families. Which include "Learning to be independent, adopting useful and appropriate work habits, practicing good interpersonal skills, and behaving appropriately" (Summers, N) in order for the case worker to gather the information for the assessment they must have good listening skills to hear and see the needs of the client weather it's a need for a therapy or referred to a specific agencies.

In order to be a help to the client the case manager must have all the important details that's need in order to work with the clients with in the community. What do you think?
