Beating the company's campaign target

As the Community of Practice leader for the administrative assistants in your company, one of your tasks is to get them all working together toward common goals. What better time to mobilize them than the upcoming United Way campaign? The company set a target of a 70% participation rate in donations made by payroll deduction, and you'd like to challenge your group to do better.

The financial obligation isn't onerous – a commitment of as little as $1 a week qualifies as participation. The administrative assistant in human resources can arrange to track payroll deduction pledge forms returned by the members of your Community of Practice without violating anyone's privacy. During the two weeks of the campaign, you would simply get a daily report saying how many of the administrative assistants on your list had submitted pledges, without any names or amounts included. At the end of the campaign, you could see if the total beat the company's 70% participation rate target.

Now all that's left is for you to post a message on the Community's intranet site persuading members to donate by payroll deduction and take up the challenge to exceed the 70% participation rate.
