History Assignemnt
NOTE! These MicroAssignments can only be accepted if you are IN class in person on the day due because they are meant to be participatory (group discussion) assignments.
Your write up, with a link to the segment, must be posted on Turnitin AND you must have your write up fully available in class, either electronically or on paper for to share and the discussion.

Pick 1 in-depth segmentfrom
The PBS Newshour(7-8 pm M- F or streaming)
or
The PBS Newshour Weekend (5-5:30 pm Sat & Sun or streaming)

The in-depth segments range from 10-20 minutes each. The one you pick MUST be relevant to history, including contemporary history (current events.) Be ready to defend or explain the relevance of your pick.
Pickone from any day up to two weeks prior to the assignment.
Your task for each segment A & B:
THIS MUST BE TYPED: (In ¾ to 1 ¼ page double spaced):
1) Be ready to briefly explain the segment in class (Nothing written needed for this part.)
2) Briefly discuss the quality/ value of each segment you saw, and how it compares with your regular or other sources of news?
3) What more would you like to know about each issue discussed?
4) What, if anything, does it remind you of from the 19th and early 20th century history we have studied, and can you apply anything from that history that might be relevant.
