Based on outcomes from part 1 of the project students

Assignment-

2.1 Introduction-

UK has advanced in implementing the sustainability and improved building efficiency in its construction sector and positioned itself ahead of most European countries. However, since most of the UK's building comprises of old existing ones, it is important that appropriate attention must be aimed towards making existing buildings to be sustainable and efficient. This study is conducted to evaluate the requirements that should be considered by hotel management when they intend to undertake a refurbishment work of their property.

2.2. Objectives

Part 1-

2.2.1. Identify all key documents that should be considered when undertaking hotel refurbishment

2.2.2. Review all key documents and key criteria for identifying these documents

2.2.3 Develop a method to priorities the criteria (e.g which of the documents are more important, which should be considered simultaneously etc)

2.2.4 Develop a cost estimate for each identified criteria (For example, a percentage estimate cost for refurbishment works that has to do with cooling system or another estimate for refurbishment work that involves windows or lighting etc.)

Part 2

2.2.5. Based on outcomes from part 1 of the project, students should develop an algorithm that can aid hotel management to make decisions on what parts of the building should be refurbished based on which is most favourable for (energy consumption reduction, cost implications and CO2 emission reduction). The algorithm should be presented in form of a flow chart.
