Within the article, a study is presented involving a group of Americans tested in literacy skills. The findings support my claim that This article helps support my claim that ensuring adults have a proper education increases their ability to contribute a lot more to society but also helps decrease poverty and crime rates.

Scholarly source 2:

Prins. E., Monnat, S., Clymer, C. & Toso, B.W. (2015). How Is Health Related to Literacy, Numeracy, and Technological Problem-Solving Skills among U.S. Adults? Evidence from the Program for the International Assessment of Adult Competencies (PIAAC). Journal of Research & Practice for Adult Literacy, Secondary & Basic Education. 4(3), 22-42. 21p.

This article includes research that shows that literacy is connected to good health and how. It also shows that the environment that you are in effects the ability to receive a proper education.
