The grapevine or "rumor mill" is present in almost all organizations. It is one type of informal communication. The information that flows through the grapevine may or may not be accurate. Supervisors can't eliminate the grapevine, so how can you use it to your advantage? When does it become necessary for a supervisor to "shut down" the rumor mill?
