Analyze the overall mixed-methods strategy or design

Assignment:

This Assignment builds on your knowledge base as you analyze the appropriateness of mixed-methods designs for research and evaluation purposes. Choose two of the three articles assigned for this module. As you read your chosen articles, critique and analyze each study to gain proficiency in understanding the particular mixed-method approach you are reading about. Analyze the appropriateness of each methodology for research and evaluation based on the main mixed-methods strategies discussed in the Creswell reading: sequential, concurrent, and transformational.

For example, if you are reading the article that uses a sequential strategy, you might spend some time reviewing Creswell Chapter 10 (pages 208-213), as well as investigating online resources via the Walden University Library and Google Scholar. You may wish to consult your Instructor for guidance on appropriate resources for further investigation.

Write a 4 to 5 page paper comparing the core research components of the studies you chose, making sure to analyze the following for each article:

•The overall mixed-methods strategy or design

•The strategy or design selected for this study

•The problem statement

•The purpose of the study

•The research questions which addressed the quantitative data and those which addressed the qualitative data (if stated)

•The sample and sampling technique used for both the quantitative and qualitative methods

•The data collection and analytic techniques employed. Describe these in detail. ?The quantitative data collection techniques used

?The qualitative data collection techniques used

?Whether the way the data were collected corresponded with the mixed-method strategy used (for example, whether the data were in fact collected sequentially or concurrently)

?How quantitative data were analyze

?How qualitative data were analyzed

?How the quantitative and qualitative data analyses were used to explain the findings

•Ethical issues which might exist with this study and why
