Assignment:
2 Focal IS Fit with Porter's Forces Model & Generic Competitive Strategies: In Section 3.2, you have already analyzed your organization's competitive environment based on Porter's model. Now you should specifically discuss if, and how, your focal IS-supported business process helps (or doesn't help) to counteract each of the five individual forces. Frame your discussion, if possible, in terms of Porter's four generic competitive strategies. Which strategies (if any) does your focal process and technology support? Is it failing to counteract a force that it should be addressing? What are its competitors doing differently? How might your focal ISenabled business process become more (or less) important given expected industry trends? Etc.
How will it be graded:
Inclusion of corrections to the content from Milestone 4, if required by me -
• Substantive incorporation of articles and other sources -
You must incorporate information from at least 4 references into this milestone. These references could be articles, case studies, white papers, or your own personal research on other organizations, etc. No more than one can be an interview with individuals working at the organization itself. I want you to focus here on external research as well as your own personal analysis of the organization, as opposed to what people already working there think.

o Citations are provided in the text for all specific information.
o All sources cited in the text appear in a separate bibliography section at the end of the paper.
• Use of exhibits (e.g., tables, graphs, images) -
o Relevant exhibits are included in the text or a separate appendix (as appropriate).
o All exhibits are properly labeled, placed in the proper location, and referenced in the text.
o Some examples of appropriate exhibits might include diagrams, photos, or screenshots illustrating how other organizations use technology differently than your organization to support this particular business process. Or you could create your own tables or charts summarizing your findings, e.g., comparing technology use across the various organizations and industries you studied in some way, such as to try to relate technology use tospecific 8 organizational performance measures across organizations, etc. Feel free to experiment with what you think would be most useful and interesting for the reader.

o I expect you to proofread each other's work before turning in your paper. Please visit the Writing Center if necessary to get help.
o I will deduct 20% of the score from each section of the paper that suffers from spelling, grammatical, or other readability problems that are so severe that I have difficulty making sense of the content itself. Less serious writing problems will result in smaller point deductions.
