I liked the message this offered. It was in simple language, they used jargon as well as professional language. They also made sure to offer some back story to why the labor day/memorial day is such a hot button for crashes. They also offered advice as to how to not get in accidents. It was an interesting read, and it had just enough facts to come off as knowledgable while not being overbearing. It makes you think, and the ideas they have are simplistic so easily done for safety.

Though I liked this one, and it caught my eye. I think it could have been expanded on a bit. It's a good story, of the way businesses attempt to please their consumers. However, they did not go into as much detail as I would have liked about the promise that the airlines make. It just briefly touched on it, then continued to talk about the Pizza place. I did like that there was some back story to the story of Marco's pizza however, I did not like that there was barely anything touched about the airlines. The title talks about the pizza and the airline. I think there would be a bit more about the airlines as well, and it would be just a bit longer perhaps.

Question 3

Writing a Pitch Letter. Please respond to the following:

• You are directing the public relations campaign for a business that you patronize regularly. In an effort to get a newspaper reporter interested in doing a story about your business, you plan to write a pitch letter to entice the interest of the reporter. Choose one type of pitch that you think would be most effective for this business. Explain in detail why you think this would be the most effective pitch type.

• Choose any other type of pitch letter (see "The Pitch Letter" in Chapter 16) and explain why it would NOT work for the campaign you are managing.

Question 4

• You are directing the public relations campaign for a business that you patronize regularly. In an effort to get a newspaper reporter interested in doing a story about your business, you plan to write a pitch letter to entice the interest of the reporter. Choose one type of pitch that you think would be most effect for this business. Explain in detail why you think this would be the most effective pitch type.
I think in this case two could be utilized well first the creative pitch and second the straight pitch. I am going to go with my current area of business which is Giant food stores. I buy groceries from there a lot of times. We also just rolled out some new marketing aspects and some new policies to make the experience better for the consumers. While doing the creative aspect, i woudl be sure to say about how we offer better value, better selection and better service the 3 B's of Giant. Which is actually a brand new policy/campaign we rolled out. By highlighting a capaign that was new and that would benefit those who buy, I am highlighting are work. I am making sure that the world knows what we offer. Secondly, straight pitch would just be that. To be straight with the consumers about what we offer and why. If we aren't honest with what we offer, how are people going to know?

• Choose any other type of pitche letter (see "The Pitch Letter" in Chapter 16) and explain why it would not work for the campaign you are managing.

I think the worst to use here would be the provactive question and ho' hum pitch letters. Ho hum because they are just that boring and not to the point. Rather vanila so to speak. The provactive question would be hard, because it's not easy to come up with provactive questions for a grocery store that is family oriented.
