Discussion-Creativity in Sport
You may have been surprised to learn from your readings that creativity is actually an area of problem solving. As the article by Memmert, Baker, and Bertsch (2010) suggests, creativity as a problem-solving strategy has direct applicability to the field of sport as a critical thinking technique to maximize performance.
For this discussion, do the following:
Read the following article:
Memmert, D., Baker, J., & Bertsch, C. (2010). Play and practice in the development of sport-specific creativity in team ball sports. High Ability Studies, 21(1), 3-18. Then, address the following:
Reflect upon and analyze the authors' views of creativity in sport.
Provide examples of convergent thinking, divergent thinking, and creativity in sport and exercise. You may use examples from your own work with clients or a hypothetical situation. Alternatively, you may-like the authors of the article-provide examples from the world of professional sport.
Write your initial response in 200-300 words. Apply APA standards to citation of sources.

Through the end of the module, review and comment on at least two peers' responses.
Address the following when reviewing your peers' responses:
Examine the variety of sports mentioned by your peers. Do some sports tend to require more creativity than others? If so, identify these sports, and comment on how creativity may be encouraged in the players.
The response should include a reference list. Double-space, using Times New Roman 12 pnt font, one-inch margins, and APA style of writing and citations.
