All the number sets we have seen above put together comprise the real numbers. Real numbers are also inadequate in the sense that it does not include a quantity which is the square root of a negative number. One has to look towards complex numbers to deal with such quantities. Since this is beyond the scope of this book, here we discuss only real numbers.
