A wireless service provider has a bandwidth of 120 khz

A wireless service provider has a bandwidth of 120 kHz available which must be allocated for either voice users, or data users, or both. To serve a voice user a channel with bandwidth of 20 kHz is required, while to serve a data user a channel with 60 kHz bandwidth is required. Thus, the service provider has 3 options: to serve only voice users, in which case a total of 6 voice channels will be available, to serve only data users, in which case a total of 2 data channels will be available, or to provide mixed service with 1 data channel and 3 voice channels. The provider decides to use a time-division system with time slots of fixed duration T in which all service requests (voice and/or data) come in at the beginning of a time slot and last for T seconds. Assume that there are 6 independent voice users and two independent data users in the system. The voice users request a voice channel with probability 0.8 and pay 20 cents if their call is processed, while the data users request a data channel with probability 0.5 and pay $1 if their request is processed. Evaluate the expected revenue that the provider gets in each case (voice users only, data users only, and mixed voice/data service).
