A deeper understanding and appreciation for the different

Welcome to our learning journey together. We are going to be using the forums to generate scholarly discussions around main themes in this class and work together to create a respectful learning environment that promotes critical thinking about how our criminal justice system operates. The forums in this class are going to be an interactive experience in which we are going to explore meaningful and current topics, so that together we have a deeper understanding and appreciation for the different components that form our criminal justice system.
Forum Rubric 100 200 level CJ.doc will be used to evaluate each learner's meaningful contribution to our learning community. Please make sure that you review the rubric because this is what is going to be used to measure your earned assignment points for the forums.

With that being said, lets break it down as to the expectations of what is required for each of you to be successful and create an active learning community in the forums.

Each student will be required to make three (3) postings as a minimum for each forum assignment. That means you need to have one postings around the main topic proposed. You then need to make at least two meaningful postings to your peers or follow-up questions the class professor directs to you for clarification. Responding to your peers or the professor will count towards the 3 post that learners need for each forum assignment.

There is no minimum word count for any of the postings. What is required is postings that contribute towards advancing the knowledge of our learning community.

To help us achieve the goal on active engagement, we need active learning partners who will challenge and push our learning team to a deeper understanding of the topics explored while offering different perspectives.

Your first (1) posting is due by Thursday at 11:59 pm (2359 hrs). Your first post must include at least one peer-reviewed journal article from the APUS online library databases. All references that are used must be formatted in APA Style 6th Edition and this includes the in-text citation. It is important that you start to learn the written scholarly language and writing format that is used within the discipline.

Each learner is required to make two (2) additional postings to either your peers postings, or answer follow-up questions from the class professor. Remember each learner needs to make a minimum of three (3) postings each week that are on time to have successfully completed the assignment.
