A block of aluminium at 0c of mass of 500 g is dropped into

A block of aluminium, at 0C of mass of 500 g, is dropped into an insulated container of water at 80C. If the water temperature drops from 80C to 60C,

a) Discover the mass of water in the container, assuming that the container has a negligible heat capacity.

b) How would you find the mass m of water in the container if, instead of aluminium, a block of ice of mass 500 g at 0C is dropped into the container? Write down an equation for m assuming that the equilibrium temperature is the same as before. The latent heat of fusion of ice is 334 kJ/kg while the specific heats of water and aluminium are 4200 and 900 J/kg· K respectively.
