Diseases caused by the act of the self immune system of the individual are known as autoimmune diseases. The autoimmune diseases arise when the immune system creates antibodies or defense cells that attack tissues, cells and organs of its own body. The attacked cells or tissues are wrongly identified as antigens by immune system.
