What is verification and describe its different types?

Verification is static kind of software testing, which means code is not implemented. The product is estimated by going throughout the code. The different types of verification are:
i. Inspection : this is a detailed word-by-word checking of software product; with the purpose of verify traceability of related requirements and finding defects, etc.
ii. Walkthrough : It is an informal verification which was initiated by the author of the software product to a coworker for assistance in finding defects or suggestion for enhancement. They are generally spontaneous. Author gives details about the product; coworker comes out with explanation and author notes down related points and performs corrective measures.
