Priming can be defined as the process which is used to drive out the air occupied in the casing by filling it with water. Before centrifugal pump is started, priming is performed. Priming refers to the filling suction pipe and casing it with water. When the pump is switched on ,the pump sends away the water filled in the casing and the suction is created.
