Multiplexer are defined as many into one. A multiplexer refers to the digital circuit that comprises of several inputs and only one output. It consists of ‘n’ input signals, and ‘m’ output control or address signals and only one output (Y) signal.
Multiplexing refers to the technique which is used to decrease the requirements of the indicator power. Decimal outputs of the digital instruments like digital voltmeters and the frequency counters are often exhibited using the seven segment indicators. Thus, it is known as multiplexing displays.
