Gametes are defined as the cells which are specialized in the sexual reproduction. They consists half of the maximum number of chromosomes of the species and join with other gamete producing a zygote having double the number of chromosomes of gametic cells. In humans, gametes are produced by the meiosis; the male gametes are sperm cells and female gametes are the egg cells.
