The Amoebiasis in man is caused by the infection of the protozoan parasite Entamoeba histolytica. The vegetative trophozoite type is pathogenic. The trophozoites build their way deep to the sub mucosa of the large intestinal wall by eating via the intestinal mucosa. The blood and ulcer contents pour to the lumen of the intestine and pass out as the bloody stool.
