Vascular cambium refers to the secondary meristematic tissue which in roots and in the stem makes the vascular tissues (phloem and xylem) of the plant. Generally, the outer side of vascular cambium generates the layer of the phloem and the inner side of the tissue generates a layer of the xylem.
