State some of the function of iris and of the pupil?

The iris works just like diaphragm of photographic camera since it has muscles which contract or relax varying the pupil diameter. Whenever, the luminous intensity heightens parasympathetic nervous system controls the contraction of pupil; whenever there exist shortage of the light sympathetic nervous system stimulates the dilation of pupils. These movements depend on muscles of the iris.
