Describe briefly the term vascular bundles? How does the configuration of vascular bundles in the stem distinguish monocots from dicots?

Vascular bundles are segments of the xylem and allocated phloem which run longitudinally in the stem. In dicots the vascular bundles are organized side by side forming concentric rings. In monocots vascular bundles are scattered and don’t form rings.
