Explain how does one use the Triple-DES in the CBC Mode?

Till recently, the most important use of triple-DES was for encryption of single DES keys and there was actually no need to consider how one might implement the different block cipher modes whenever the block cipher in question is really one derived from the multiple encryptions. Though, as DES nears the end of its helpful lifetime, more thought is being given to an increasingly extensive use of triple-DES.
