The near point is said to be the closest distance between an object and eye which make possible the formed image to be focused, that is, it refers to the point where the ciliary muscles are in their higher contraction. The far point refers to the most distant point from the eye where an object is placed and its image is still focused, that is, it is the situation of maximum relaxation of ciliary muscles. The zone between the near point and the far point is known as the accommodation zone.
