An uncharacteristic fermentation procedure due to oxygen scarcity occurs in the muscle tissue. Under severe use muscles demand too much energy (or ATP) and consume greater oxygen to generate that energy. High consumption leads to the oxygen scarcity and the muscle cells start to build lactic fermentation trying to persuade their energetic requirements. In this condition muscle cramps, pain and fatigue are due to the lactic acid discharged by fermentation.
