Hypertext and hypermedia
Describe the basic differences between the hypertext and hypermedia.
Expert
Hypertext is theoretically the same as regular text-it can be stored, read, searched or edited with a significant difference; hypertext is text with pointers to the other text. The browser let you deal with pointers in a transparent manner-choose the pointer and you are presented with the text which is pointed at.
Hypermedia is a superset of the hypertext. Hypermedia documents consist of links not only to other pieces of text, however as well to other forms of media: sounds, images and movies. Images themselves can be chosen to link to sounds or documents. Hypermedia just combines hypertext and multimedia. Hypermedia is known by Ted Nelson in the year 1970.
