Cytoskeleton is the cytoplasmic structure which supports the cell, keeps its shape and fixates and shifts the cell organelles. It is made up of an extensive network of fibers scattered in the cytoplasm and anchored in the plasma membrane. Its constituents are microfilaments, intermediate filaments and microtubules.
