Explain the secondary roots? How secondary roots are differentiated from the shoots in origin?

Secondary roots are considered as the ramifications of the primary (main) root. The secondary roots appear from pericycle, inner tissue of root. The shoots begin from the lateral buds of stem. Thus, the origin of secondary roots is endogenous and the origin of the shoots is exogenous.
