The DNA vaccine, or vaccination, refers to the vaccination technology that is based upon the genetic engineering. In DNA vaccination, a recombinant plasmid consisting of the gene of specific antigen which is part of the given pathogenic agent is inserted in the cells of individual to get immunized. These cells then start to generate the antigen which triggers the primary immune response and theoretically, the individual becomes immunized against that antigen.
