Dry ice is known as a solid carbon dioxide. It can be compressed into various sizes and shapes, blocks, or slabs. When it absorbs the heat, it changes directly from a solid to a vapour. It does not have any liquid state. This transformation from solid to vapour is known as sublimation. At the atmospheric pressure, solid carbon dioxide vaporizes at a temperature of -109'F (-78°C).
